PALATE The generous yet elegant palate offers wonderful dark forest fruits and blackcurrants. Beautifully structured with a distinct purity, the fruit characters combine with ripe tannins and a savoury undercurrent to culminate in a lingering Cabernet finish. While certainly approachable in its youth, this is a wine which will benefit from further bottle maturation, and will cellar comfortably for 5-10 years

Leconfield Cabernet Sauvignon

COLOUR: Full deep red. BOUQUET: Rich ripe cassis and blackberry fruit nose integrated with cedar, nutmeg and cinnamon nuances through maturation in predominantly French oak. The wine proudly shows its Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon pedigree. PALATE: The palate displays an excellent depth and persistence of rich dark mulberry fruit with ripe, long tannins. It is full flavoured yet retains elegance and finesse. FOOD SUGGESTIONS: This wine will best match full flavoured meals, such as tender pink lamb back strap, a rich risotto or full flavoured game. CELLARING POTENTIAL: Excellent on release and will age over the next decade. Expect cedar and cigar box characters to develop with time.

Bouquet A swirl in the glass and you are instantly greeted with violets, red fruits of raspberry and cherry with a hint of cedar and leaf. The Malbec works to lift the aromas and give a subtle show of fig. Palate - Primary fruits, like having a mouthful of blueberries, are dominant and with the careful selection of oak, and enhanced with hint of leather and cedar. Round and elegant tannins are showing from the inclusion of Malbec which works to give this year’s Cabernet a more plush and generous palate.
