The TAUPENOT-MERME Domaine is located in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, in Morey Saint Denis, and cultivates 13 Ha of vines spread over 20 appellations in the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits. Existing for 8 generations, we are always seeking to satisfy our clients and to find better ways to guarantee the consistent quality of our wines. velvet-smooth, the tannins of Gevrey-Chambertin confer power and solidity to the build and contribute to its great longevity. This is a wine for meat-eater, its gamey notes giving it a particular affinity for game, whether furred or feathered, especially when the wine is more fully evolved. 2013 vintage

Description
Brother-and-sister team Virginie and Romain are at the helm at this domaine. It has 13 hectares on the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits, with grands crus including Clos des Lambrays, Charmes-Chambertin, Corton-Rognet and Mazoyères-Chambertin These seventh generation winegrowers are typical of the new crop of young Burgundian vignerons who are realising the full potential of priceless family vineyard parcels through sensitive viticulture and thoughtful winemaking. All grapes are de-stemmed, with 25% new oak used for the village wines and 40% for grand and premier cru. Virginie looks after sales while Romain works the cellar, producing structured, self-assured Burgundy that expresses the vineyards well. The wines are getting better and better – as shown by a truly exciting set of 2013s.
