Geoff Merrill Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Approx.14 months after vintage, Geoff and Scott undergo a blind tasting to select the finest barrels from our Coonawarra and McLaren Vale vineyards that make the grade for our Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. These barrels are blended together in tank then returned to a variety of new and seasoned American and French oak hogsheads for additional maturation prior to bottling.
The palate is well structured by firm grippy tannin filled out with generous fruit flavour and supple texture. Even with some time under its belt, the palate is still youthful with great acidity, tension and bright fruit flavours.
Gorgeously complex and engaging, the splendidly lifted bouquet shows golden peach, Gala apple, nougat and cedar characters, leading to an opulent palate that’s superbly weight and expansive. The wine is complex and persistent with a multi-layered mouthfeel, making it hugely appealing. 5 stars.

“At the heart of the Geoff Merrill philosophy is balance, and the desire to make aged wines more accessible to all wine drinkers.
A good bottle of wine is a gift to be shared in celebration for all occasions, sparking joy, bringing friends together and creating collective memories.
As we maintain and grow our domestic and international markets, we celebrate our heritage by passing on our stories, telling tales of Geoff Merrill the man, and Geoff Merrill the family winery, while sharing our balanced, age-worthy South Australian wine.”
