In 2009 Syd Bradford started Thick as Thieves Wines in the Yarra Valley as a virtual operation – buying in grapes and renting facilities. After years of hard yakka, he has now established a family winery and vineyard. . . one happy little vegemite! Purchasing the Cypress Ridge vineyard in the Yarra Valley in 2012 was the game changer for Thick as Thieves… 22 year old pinot noir vines that are in a happy spot and produce Syd’s flagship pinot wines. The experimental beginnings of ‘The Aloof Alpaca’ Arneis are still going strong and give inspiration to new alternative varieties & styles moving forward.
