El Galayo Garnacha 2023 is a vivid, high-altitude Spanish red from DOP Cebreros in the Sierra de Gredos. Made entirely from old bush-vine Garnacha, it combines fragrant red fruit, mountain freshness and a surprisingly long, energetic finish.

About the Wine

This village wine comes from old bush vines planted across high-altitude sites with granite and slate soils of varying textures. Low maximum yields of 3,500 kg per hectare concentrate the fruit while preserving the freshness and aromatic detail that define Garnacha from the Sierra de Gredos.

Winemaking

The grapes were harvested by hand into 25 kg boxes, then fermented spontaneously in concrete vessels. The wine matured for six months in large-format French oak vats, allowing the fruit and mineral character of the vineyards to remain at the centre of the finished wine.

Tasting Notes

Bright ruby with medium-pale intensity, the nose shows classic Garnacha aromas of fresh strawberry, raspberry and red cherry, lifted by aromatic herbs and delicate floral notes.

The palate is direct, fresh and full of flavour, with juicy red fruit, lively acidity and impressive length. It is an expressive, finely balanced premium wine with the brightness to drink beautifully at the table.
