Rosé – grapes, flavours and pairings

More often than not, rosé wines are a blend of several grapes – most commonly a combination of grenache, sangiovese, syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, cinsault and pinot noir. 

Its flavour profile is fresh and fruity. Consider a light red wine, like grenache, but with some extra brightness and crispness to it. You can expect the following flavours from a bottle of rosé:
