Be honest – you thought Pecorino was cheese, didn’t you? In fact Pecorino is also the name of a grape varietal that is found along Italy’s east coast and creates delicious wines with some complex floral and spice notes. This wine is a favourite of ours – in the glass it has a beautiful shining golden tone – a prelude to rich aromas with hints of exotic fruit and soft spicy notes. On the palate the Pecorino is a complex and beguiling wine, with good acidity and mineral notes, and hints of ginger, orange peel, and even a touch of lemongrass. It has palate weight and a long, intense finish.
It’s a serious wine that packs serious flavour and in our opinion perfect with South-East Asian cuisine.
