First produced by the visionary Dr Bailey Carrodus in 1973, the Dry Red No.1 is a Bordeaux-inspired blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, grown on the estate's original unirrigated vineyards in the Yarra Valley.
The 2022 vintage is a stunning expression of this benchmark wine — deep ruby-crimson in colour with a profound bouquet of blackcurrant, dark plum, cedar, graphite, and subtle floral lift. The palate is structured and elegant with fine-grained tannins, perfectly balanced acidity, and an exceptionally long, complex finish.
