Yarra Yering is one of Australia's most iconic and historically significant wineries, and the Dry Red Wine No.1 is their legendary flagship — a wine of extraordinary pedigree, complexity, and longevity. First produced by the visionary Dr Bailey Carrodus in 1973, the Dry Red No.1 is a Bordeaux-inspired blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, grown on the estate's original unirrigated vineyards in the Yarra Valley.
The 2022 vintage is a stunning expression of this benchmark wine — deep ruby-crimson in colour with a profound bouquet of blackcurrant, dark plum, cedar, graphite, and subtle floral lift. The palate is structured and elegant with fine-grained tannins, perfectly balanced acidity, and an exceptionally long, complex finish. A wine built for the cellar, with the potential to age gracefully for 20+ years.
Grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot.
Alcohol: 13.5%.
